The Silver Bass News:
Steve Greenwood, former bass player for The Silver, has chosen to pursue other projects. We say a fond adios and wish him well.
And lo and behold, who should arrive but none other than the incredible bassist, Rick “Ricky Rat” Tierney, AKA the Rickster, Rickenator, Rickmeister, Ricky-Rick-Rickheim, who has consented to lend his low tones, flute and solid groove to The Silver. Rick comes with a sterling ‘silver’ pedigree and an extensive range of experience, having played with The Monkees, Alice Cooper, members of Yes, and William Shatner to name a few. We welcome his participation and look forward to a bright future with him full of gigs as well as our top priority – recording our new original material. Let’s go, Ricky!
The Silver Drums:
Personnel changes are par for the course in rock bands. In keeping with that, The Silver has had a few of our own. Firstly, drums - Our dearest friend and drummer Barry Portnoy, who graced us with his uncanny musical sensibilities, rock-solid rhythm and hilarious sense of humor, has chosen to pursue a different path on his musical horizons. We will miss him and his great personality and we wish him well in his future endeavors. You’ll still find pix of Barry throughout the web site. Cheers, buddy! We love you.
In the wake of Barry’s departure, we are equally blessed to have the talents of John Penney. John has subbed for Barry in the past and comes with a legacy of great ensemble experience and a crisp percussion and time-keeping sense. John’s solid meter will keep us firmly on track. PS: Welcome, Mr. Penney!
